Effect of friction stir welding process parameters on mechanical and metallurgical behavior of AA6061-T6 and AA2017-T6 tailored blanks

Due to the high strength weight ratio and ability form desired shape, AA2017 is extensively used in automobile industry. The join with other aluminum alloys capability respond heat treatment creates opportunities for engineers AA6061 blanks using friction stir welding. Controlling process parameters a challenge optimization of tool pin geometry, axial force, rotational speed, welding tilt angle will influence mechanical metallurgical properties tailor welded joints. Three different speeds, angles were fabricate ultimate tensile elongation joints predicted mathematical regression models, models validated experimental results. Tailor tested study effects these three on elongation. Results obtained gained clear perspective optimal properties.
